Finding the Right Way to Share Your Opportunities
Different organizations have different needs. Whether you're a large national charity or a small local group, we want to make it easy for you to share your volunteering opportunities with people who care.
The approach that works best for you depends on your organization's size, location, and how you operate. Let's find the perfect fit for your needs.
Not Sure Where to Start?
We've created a simple flowchart to guide you through the decision process. Answer a few quick questions and we'll point you in the right direction.
Use Our Decision GuideNational & Regional Organizations
If your organization operates across multiple counties or throughout the UK, you have access to powerful tools designed for larger-scale recruitment.
What You Can Do
Apply for a Recruiter account that gives you complete control over managing and uploading your volunteering opportunities.
Important: Only head offices of national or regional organizations can apply. If you're a local branch, please ask your head office to set up an account that you can use.
You can also consider V-Base, our comprehensive volunteering management software that makes uploading to Do-it seamless and efficient.
Need help deciding? We're happy to discuss which option best suits your organization's unique situation.
Local Branches of National Groups
Being part of a larger organization gives you flexibility in how you share opportunities.
Your Two Options
- Connect with your local Volunteer Centre who can post opportunities on your behalf
- Ask your head office to set up a Recruiter account and create a login just for your branch
Both approaches work well - it just depends on what's most convenient for your team and how your organization prefers to coordinate volunteer recruitment.
Local Organizations in England
If you recruit volunteers in a specific geographic area within England, your local Volunteer Centre is your best connection point.
How It Works
Get in touch with your local Volunteer Centre and they'll handle posting your opportunities for you. They use our V-Base software, which makes the whole process smooth and straightforward.
Can't find a Volunteer Centre near you? You can apply for a Recruiter or V-Base account directly.
Organizations in Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland
Many Volunteer Centres outside England don't currently upload opportunities to Do-it, but we still want to help you connect with volunteers.
What We Recommend
- Register with your local Volunteer Centre for support in your area
- Apply for a Recruiter account to reach more potential volunteers online directly
A Recruiter account gives you the tools to manage your volunteer recruitment independently and reach a wider audience across the UK.
International Opportunities
We focus on opportunities within the UK, but we understand that many valuable volunteering experiences happen overseas.
Listing Requirements
Only opportunities with a UK postcode can be uploaded to our main volunteering database. However, if you're a UK-based charity offering overseas opportunities, you may be eligible for our dedicated overseas section.
Interested in being listed? We only feature UK-based registered charities in our overseas opportunities section.
Ready to Get Started?
Once you've identified which approach works best for your organization, the next step is easy. Whether you're applying for an account or connecting with your local Volunteer Centre, we're here to support you every step of the way.
Your commitment to making a difference deserves tools that work as hard as you do.
