What You'll Be Doing

Remember the incredible energy and warmth of the Games Makers at the 2012 Olympics? We're bringing that same spirit to Race for Life! As a Race Day Champion, you'll be the friendly face that makes each participant's experience truly special.

Your role might include:

• Welcoming participants and spectators with warmth and enthusiasm as they arrive, setting a positive tone for their Race for Life experience
• Cheering on runners at dedicated motivation points around the course - your encouragement can make all the difference when they need it most
• Answering questions and helping people find their way around the event with a smile
• Hosting our meaningful Reflection Area where participants can pause after crossing the finish line - a truly moving part of the day
• Supporting activities in the event marquee, helping families access health information, games, and activities that make Race for Life more than just a race
• Engaging with participants and their loved ones about all the fun activities available, encouraging everyone to enjoy the full event experience

Each venue is unique, so your event manager will work with you to match your strengths with what's needed on the day. We'll make sure you're comfortable with whatever tasks you take on.

You don't need special qualifications - just bring your enthusiasm and these qualities:

• A friendly, outgoing personality that naturally draws people in and makes them feel welcome
• Strong communication skills and confidence in talking with diverse groups of people
• The ability to motivate and encourage participants and spectators with genuine warmth
• Initiative to spot opportunities to enhance the experience for everyone around you
• A team player mindset - we achieve amazing things together
• Comfortable being assertive when needed while maintaining your friendly approach
